Every journey has an ending. He's survived the Purge and battled overwhelming odds, but now Keo is back on the road and more determined than ever to fulfill a promise made nearly half a year ago. What he didn't expect - or want - was to end up in another bloody conflict. With the help of some old friends and some dangerous new ones, Keo must figure out a way to keep everyone he cares for alive. In a world where creatures maintain unquestioned dominion over the night and opportunists lord over the day, that's easier said than done. Keo is not the devil-may-care mercenary he once was, but he's never backed down from a fight before, and he's not going to start now. A year after the Purge, mankind is still an endangered species, but the Isles may finally offer the path to victory.

Ok, really liked this series at first but then the books started to become repetitive. Here's the story line -- one or more of core group get separated from the rest, who are in a place of relative safety. The separated few have to get back home and almost get there before they either get captured, or detoured, or tricked, or something else. Then repeat this same pattern. Also, while the good guys have little trouble shooting and killing their enemies, they seem to get shot themselves about every five minutes, but conveniently its always just a flesh wound that heals fine, with no residual impairment in function, fitness, or anything else. Must be nice to regenerate like an MMORPG character. That said, I am hooked and now want to see how the whole series ends so I guess I will buy the final book.Product details

The Isles of Elysium Purge of Babylon Book 6 (Audible Audio Edition) Sam Sisavath Adam Danoff Road To Babylon Media LLC Books Reviews
Another exciting chapter in the Purge of Babylon series. Once again Sam Sisaveth hit it right out of the park! This book follows Keo's adventure after leaving Lara and rest of the Song Island crew on the Trident. We finally get to find out if Keo makes it to Santa Marie Island. Not as much ghoul action in this one, because Keo has to deal with the humans...Can't wait for the next chapter to see what Lara and crew are up to in the fight against the ghouls.
Spoilers ahead
Keo finally makes it to Santa Marie Island...but his reunion with Gillian is not what he expected.
She is in the local camp T-18. Keo gets captured by the local bad guys and is given the mission to take out Tobias (the leader of the local resistance fighters) that's been causing trouble. In return, he is told he'll get to see Gillian. Of course, Keo gets caught in the middle. One of Tobias' crew is Jordan, a girl that had been with Keo, Gillian, and Mark before they split up and Keo did battle with Pollard. Jordan escaped from T-18, but Gillian did not. Keo pulls a double cross on Steve (T-18) and makes him think Tobias is dead. Only to find out that Gillian is pregnant with another man's baby...and she's happy at T-18. Jordan gets captured and tortured by Steve, so Keo has to fight his way back out of T-18. In the melee (and later when Keo and Jordan escape to Santa Maria) a mysterious blue eyed ghoul helps them escape...Will.
Enjoyable read but disappointing in there was only a few small references to the main series characters. I was not really interested in Keo's story as I had not read his past entries, and only read this one to find out what was coming for Will and Lara. Would likely have been at least 4 stars as in the past main character entries, if it revolved around them instead. The revelation at the end was not really so unexpected as it had no where else to go for Will. Was only a matter of time and long drawn out. Did not need to read the whole book to just get to the last chapter or so. The rest was just more of the same recurring action, only with Keo this time, which has become somewhat repetitive after 6 books. Hope to see a more interesting story line for the main cast next time. Lets keep our fingers crossed.
Just a great read. Spoiler alert for those who don't want to know what the book is actually about.
This one starts with Keo finally making it to Santa Marie Island. He's using the boat Lara promised him for his help on Song Island and with the yacht . He also has a promise from Lara to come if he needs help and an offer of a place for he and Gillilan on that yacht. Trident..
As he gets off shore Keo is promptly fired on by a teenage kid. Once he and the kid, Gene, come to an understandig Keo comes ashore.
What he finds is a deserted island. The only human on it is Gene who's been on the island for months after the party he was with was abducted by men in black. Those same men have been around at least once a week trying to capture Gene. Gene knows the island like the back of his hand and easily escapes those hunting him.
The island does have some resources but it would get pretty lonely as all the people except for Gene and Keo are gone.
Water is the big problem and Gene has set out liter soda bottles on roofs to catch rain water. Soon all the non perishible food will be gone. After those supplies are gone you can always fish from the docks. Keo figures you could survive on the island as long as you like fish.
There are ghouls on the island as well. Gene watchs them every night. He's become quite adept at staying unseen by them. In fact Keo thinks the kid has done a damned fine job of surviving on his own.
No Gillian and Keo begins to wonder if those same men in black abducted her and the others. Hell. He doesn't even know if they made it to the island.
The men in black return and Keo kills two and wounds the third. The wounded man is Miller and he tells Keo about T18 the town that he comes from. Its one of those towns where people have traded in their freedom for security and have all become blood donors to the ghouls. Woman are kept pregnant producing babies to provide humans for more blood. Not much of a trade off in Keo's eyes.
Keo is captured by Miller's brother, Steve, who runs T18. On the way in to the Town Keo spots Gillian. She's by the river where woman are washing cloths. No washing machine. A river, rocks and elbow grease. These folks seem completely happy to be living like its the 1800's. Again, not Keo's cup of tea.
Steve has a proposition for Keo. He wants him to go out an find Tobias, he's the leader of those trying to disrupt the Town. If Keo refuses then Gillian will pay the price.
So begins one damned fine kick ass read.
This one has Keo, Jordan, Gillian, Dr. Jay, Steve, his brother Jack, T18, loads of security in black, fields full of crops, housing developments, a Gillian with a mind numbing surprise for Keo, a captured Jordan, a rescue by a collaborator, a horrendous thunderstorm, an escape, a blue eyed ghoul who helps that escape, a battle royal on Santa Marie Island, the return of that blue eyed ghoul who was looking for Keo, a Keo and Jordan who can't believe what this blue eyed ghoul is telling them and Keo and Jordan on the road to finding Lara and the Trident and getting that info to Lara.
Five Stars and then some. I'm glad to see the blue eyed ghoul and anyone with a brain knows just who this ghoul is. The planner and thinker. The guy who has figured it out and now need to pass that info along.
I won't lie I was pissed as hell at the ending of the last book. That character was without doubt my favorite character. The planner, the thinker the special forces operator. Yep. He and the other operator made the story. I see where its going though and will be waiting for the next book and so should you.
Big fat who cares. Keo is boring and after killing off the character that made reading this series worth it the author has ensured I don't give a rats ass what happens to the rest. I'm still angry that I've wasted my money buying the rest of the books before I knew what a huge mistake I was making. Sam is the best author I've ever read he's just made a dumb gamble and screwed this whole series.
When the dawn is darkest, who would you expect to show up, even though it breaks your heart? I'm trying not to spoil the surprise so I'll just say that in the genre of man-to-monster stories, Keo is my favorite monster-to-man. A contract killer becomes a hero, yet again, but Sam Sisavath keeps him true to character as we watch him look for love, find it, and keep trying to stay alive with the people for whom he comes to care. Another GREAT story and I can't wait for the next one.
